Back, by popular demand!

Here’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in the daily activities of running an intensive and diversified cut flower farm. Internships are one week duration (Monday through Friday) with $200 stipend and room and board included. We’ve set this program up for times of the year when we can use extra hands on the farm and when learning opportunities abound – especially for new and beginning flower farmers.

SPRING DATES  June 5 – 9. Curriculum activities include propagating and planting annual crops, transplanting and succession planting, field cultivation and weeding, irrigation details, harvesting and post harvest handling of spring crops, and marketing – including a trip on the Wednesday market truck to experience a sales day at the Seattle Wholesale Growers Market.

FALL DATES  August 28 – September 1, September 25 – 29. Curriculum activities include field maintenance and irrigation details, harvesting and post harvest handling of fall crops including dahlias, amaranth, pumpkins and foliage crops, and marketing – including a trip on the Wednesday market truck to experience a sales day at the Seattle Wholesale Growers Market.

Applications must be received by March 31 for spring internships and by June 30 for fall internships.

You have built something amazing and I am constantly impressed by your positive attitudes, hard work and BEAUTIFUL product.

Carey Wendel, 2016 farm intern

I have learned so many things from you, it’s unbelievable. I think interning for you does have the opportunity to be life changing because you have learned so much throughout your life and you are open to sharing your wisdom. It goes beyond just how to cut dahlias, it’s a way of behaving with character and purpose and being true to oneself.
